Parting

Faint not, O heart
Though thou dost falter,
Weep not for fear
Thy love has flown away
Beyond far distant shores
Where only God can be.
Much sooner than you think
Will come a day,
Which will unite thee
With thy love forever
God has planned well,
And knowing this
We do not fear
When loved ones go.
Our God knows best
He willed it so.

“Every man dies...
Not every man really lives.”

Mel Gibson, in Braveheart - Sir Wm Wallace

On Wednesday, December 10, 2003, John Thomas Wallace passed from mortality to immortality.
He and Elizabeth Wallace had seven children, the youngest of whom is Yvonne Wallace Blane, director and co-founder of Fellow Mortals Wildlife Rehabilitation. Together, they have profoundly influenced her life and decisions in the countless ways only a loving parent can. He was a devoted husband for more than 66 years, and the beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather of a large but close-knit family. We will miss him more than we can say, until we meet again.
